Singles
Division
1:
Merrymen
playing a t the Shakespeare Inn, the team dominated the division
with the Gas Clubs Outcasts. The only team to push the Merrymen,
but took Runners-up spot.
Division
2:
A close
run division with the eventual winners being the Railway Rebels,
playing from the Railway Inn, New Street and the Hewlett Arms
the Runners-up only 2 points behind.
Division
3:
A very
close division with a deciding match to find the winners and
runners up spot, with the Shakespeare Inn taking the last game
of the match and the Glenhawks the runners-up.
Division
4:
A very
tight scoring division in which any of the 14 teams could have
won, towards the end of the second half on the last 2 games
the FiveAlls took the lead and held off the Tankard and Castle
to beat them into 1st place.

Division
1:
Again
the Merrymen took the honours with the Royal Toby A achieving
Runners-up.
Division
2:
The
Hewletts A team were worthy winners and the Victoria Inn taking
the runners-up spot.
Division
3:
As in
the singles the fight was between the Shakespeare Inn and the
Glenhawks with the Shakespeare just beating the Glenhawks into
1st place.

4:
The
Five Alls were the dominating team in the pairs beating off
the challenge from the Robins Club who took the runner-up position.

Pairs
This
knock-out competition was well supported at the United Services
Club with the finalists from The Duke of York and the Merrymen,
following a nip and tuck match the victors were M Greatbank
and B Heppell (Duke of York) beating J Johnson and B Foley (The
Merrymen) to the winning double.

Singles
Again
a well supported knock-out event with the best players in the
Town representing a high preportion of the league teams after
a number of rough matches the finalists were T Johnson (The
Merrymen) narrowly beating C Whiting (The Hewletts A)

Chris Whiting went on to represent England at darts and still
plays in the Cheltenham Darts Leauge for The Three Crowns

Pairs
Every
Team entered a pair in this knockout sponsored by The Whitbread
Brewery, with the final being contested by N Daniels and C Whiting
(The Hewletts A) and P James and B Williams (The Glenhawks)
who were runners-up on this occasion with the Hewletts A claiming
the winners trophy.

Singles
As
the doubles every pub was represented, players being knocked
out until the last two standing on the oche were J Williams
(The Shakespeare Inn) and C Betteridge (The Greyhound Inn).
A tense battle with excellent darts thrown by both competitors
with The Greyhound Inn claiming the winning place.

Charities
Cup
A
team knockout played through the league season to raise money
for various charities in the area. The final match was played
at the United Services Club, first to 6 matches proclaimed with
winners, with The Merrymen edging out Cheltenham North by 6
to 4 to take the trophy.
Champion
of Champions
The
winners of each division play each other to decide which team
wins the coveted Champions Shield, for the 1983-84 season the
team crowned The Champion of Champions were The Merrymen who
took the shield to the Shakespeare Inn.
